![]() ![]() Changing every file and folder one by one did the trick!……. I figured out how to change and remove this from every file, but it took an entire day since doing it to the drive and applying to “all enclosed items” would either get stuck and never complete or spit out a -50 error. BUT there is one other listed simply as “Fetching…” that has a loading / searching icon as if the drive and all files are looking for this data. I noticed when I “Get Info” on the drive and scroll down to Sharing & Permissions - there’s admin, myself, staff, everyone. Overt the past few days, I have been trying to look at it from another angle. Other issues popped up: I can airdrop out but not in.I am running only Virus Barrier of Intego I will most likely uninstall before anyone comments here. Not once has malware or a virus presented itself (though I have not completely ruled the idea out).Finder is unable to locate anything on the disk, all results are web based.I attempted to use Onyx to stabilize it.I ran EtreCheckPro but before I could save logs, it crashed.I have attempted this same operation in safe mode, but it’s yielded the same results. Some other bits of information (all of this is being run offline, fyi): When this happens I already know there is no hope - it’s time to reinstall once again. Less than 2 hours after connecting to this drive, the system bogged down until it finally crashed. Next, I accessed one of the drives (which might prove to be the culprit). The only things I installed were Little Snitch and Intego Security. One of my latest attempts at a fresh install including disk image is further evidence. ![]() I believe it may be malware left over from a targeted attack a few years ago because these problems began when I started going through cold storage drives to reclaim my data. Every time I do this, it’s starts up great, but quickly goes downhill. It seems as if I am doing a fresh install including disk images 2-3 times a week. For some time now I have been struggling with my two Macbook Pros remaining stable. ![]()
